Abstract

This project aims to analyze the mentalities, the social conflicts and the identities in question during the organization of the factory-based Santa Marina Football Club from the year of its foundation, 1913, up until 1933. To achieve this, we analyzed minutes of club meetings, photographs from community events, letters and also interviews with relatives of former members, through which we can observe in which ways the recently industrialized and modernized society of São Paulo reflected both in the ways in which the club structured itself and in the cultural and social dynamic of its members.
