Abstract

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a serious social problem that, for the most part, occurs in domestic settings, often following the direct or indirect involvement of children in the conflict. This study aims to analyze the effects of exposure to violence on child development, as well as to investigate the emotional, social and physical consequences of such a phenomenon in children's lives. It is an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative research, which seeks to understand the perspective of both mothers and children who deal with IPV situations. The proposal for data collection is to combine the application of instruments and conduct a focus group with mothers and children separately, to understand the perceptions, opinions and feelings of both regarding exposure to IPV.
