Abstract

The assessment of auditory functions in children with Central Auditory Processing Disorder is extremely important to identify the impaired skills, and later to plan therapeutic strategies aimed at each patient's problem. The Listening in Spatialized Noise - Sentences - LISN-S test, which consists of a speech-to-noise test applied via special computer software that produces a three-dimensional virtual hearing environment and which aims to assess hearing skills. Objective: To analyze the results obtained by the LISN-S test in children with Central Auditory Processing Disorder. Method: This is an experimental study, and part of a larger project called "LISN-S Test: Elaboration of a Database in Portuguese and normality criteria for students aged 6 to 11 years". Being carried out in the Audiology laboratories of the Department of Human Development and Rehabilitation - DDHR of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Unicamp, 50 children will be submitted to the LISN-S test that present changes in two or more tests of the behavioral assessment of the Central Auditory Processing, after the evaluation the results obtained in the test will be tabulated and analyzed statistically. Expected Results: It is expected that the subjects submitted to the LISN-S test will have a lower performance compared to the normality pattern, exemplified by the LRF result, in the four conditions: MV 0º azimuth (LRF with few tracks), MV ± 90º, RV 0º and VD ± 90º (LRF with many tracks).
