The extraction of dental elements is still a very common fact in the clinic dentistry, and may be due to trauma, periodontal problems or tooth decay. It is known that, when indicated or treatment with implants or orthodontic tooth movement, in patients with applied osteoporosis, or longer post-treatment time is needed, and that there is a correlation between osteoporosis, present and mandibular/jaw trauma, loss of bone tissue in the region. Objective: This project aims to compare the use of doxycycline in Wistar rats, in dosessubantimicrobial agents (SDD), and sodium alendronate in the treatment of bone remodeling after extraction dental. Materials and Methods: 72 Wistar rats will be used and distributed in 6 groups (n = 6), being the groups defined as follows: C - Control; CDOX - Control exposed to doxycycline 30 mg /kg/day; CAL - Control exposed to sodium alendronate 0.7 mg kg/week; OVX Ovariectomized Control; OVXDOX - Ovariectomized exposed to doxycycline 30 mg/kg/day; OVXAL - Ovariectomized exposed to sodium alendronate 0.7 mg/kg/week. The rats, about 80 days old, pass through the osteopenia induction procedure for 90 days. After this period, the rats will be submitted to treatment with doxycycline at a dose of 30 mg/ kg/day or sodium alendronate at a dose of 0.7 mg /kg/week, both for 60 days. The total trial period will be 150 days, fourteen and seven days before the sacrifice, all animals will be subjected to tooth extraction. 150 days after the start of the experiment, euthanasia will be performed. Samples of the wells being repaired will be subjected to histological, histomorphometric and immunohistochemically analysis by TRAP. Statistical analysis: The results of this project will be submitted to the Anova statistical test.
