Abstract

Considering the structuring of modern social life as proposed by Ulrich Beck, it is intended to analyze how the educational project is impacted by this configuration of the new modernity. The objective of this research is to survey various risks existing in today's society and classify them using three parameters, namely "access", "reach" and "urgency". In view of this result, it is intended to map the perception of basic education students in relation to manufactured risks. For this purpose, Serge Moscovici's Theory of Social Representations will be used, through the methodological aspect called Structural Approach, proposed by Jean-Claude Abric. In order to map the perception of risk, the Free Word Association Technique will be used, one of the techniques of the structural approach. Given the classification of risks and the social representation of the perception of risks that students in basic education have, a comparison will be made between the two results, analyzing the possible influences of scientific literacy in the construction of a critical look at the perspective of existing risks in society.
