Abstract In this project it is intended to develop molecular printing polymers (MIPs) by electropolymerization for the development of portable analytical sensors, aiming the analysis of chemical compounds, specifically, calcium channel blockers, such as diltiazem. Diltiazem is a drug that belongs to the group of benzothiazepines, a type of calcium channel blocker that acts as a vasodilator, reduces heart rate and slows down atrioventricular conduction. Diltiazem is an antianginal (reduces severe chest pain), antihypertensive (dilates blood vessels, reducing blood pressure) and antiarrhythmic (stabilizes the heart rhythm). As it is eliminated by urine, there is a wide range of samples, in addition to making it possible to control its dosage in humans, since in high concentrations diltiazem can cause a decrease in the heart-rate, atrioventricular block (closing of the atria and ventricles that allow blood to circulate in the heart), heart failure (malfunction of the heart), hypotension (very low pressure). The use of MIPs is recognized as one of the fastest (in particular by electropolymerization) and powerful methods for the creation of synthetic receptors, since it is a technique used to design artificial receptors with a high selectivity and specificity for a given analyte, on account of having the property of copying natural biological receptors such as antibodies and enzymes. | |
