Abstract

This research project presents a proposal for the development of work at the level of Scientific Initiation in the area of computer simulations to estimate the direct and indirect effects of lightning on aircraft structures. The proposal is to use mathematical applications and simulation of electromagnetic coupling phenomena to simulate the effects of lightning strikes on the structure of an aircraft, as well as to estimate the possible interference of such discharges in the embedded electrical and electronic systems. In the development of the work, structures composed of several different materials will be considered, including aeronautical aluminum alloys and carbon fiber composites. This proposal is related to research projects developed at the UNICAMP High Voltage Laboratory (LAT / DSE / UNICAMP). The objective is to collaborate to introduce a new line of research in the Aeronautical Engineering course at UNESP in São João da Boa Vista. This new line of research is related to a topic of interest in the two courses at UNESP in São João da Boa Vista (Aeronautical Engineering and Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering).
