Abstract

This project fits within the research line on stochastic and/or computational modeling of brain functioning of the RIDC NeuroMat. Its objective is to study neuronal networks with hierarchical modular topologies and stochastic leaky integrate-and-fire, or Galves-L\"ocherbach, neurons. The networks will be comprised of excitatory and inhibitory eurons, in discrete and continuous time. We will study homeostatic mechanisms that self-organize the network to a critical region where neuronal avalanches occur. All these elements were not considered before in the literature.
