Morphological and immunohistochemistry analysis of pre-neoplastic lesions in neoplastic and non-neoplastic mammal glands of dogs

Abstract

The present study, aims at analyzing the presence of preneoplastic lesions in mammary chains of dogs submitted to radical mastectomy one-sided. Will be analyzed adjacent tissue to the breast neoplasia and the remaining mammary glands without the macroscopic presence of the neoplasm. Aiming thus, the topographic identification of pre-neoplastic lesions in the mammary gland. For this will be used 100 of dogs with macroscopic evidence of mammary carcinoma, submitted to radical mastectomy one-sided, for the control group, will be collected 10 samples of dogs submitted to necropsy, without historic of mammary lesions. The fragments will be analyzed histopathologically and by immunohistochemistry. With this study, expected to find an association between the presence of preneoplastic lesions in mammary chains without microscopic lesions and between the presence of these lesions in different histologic subtypes, and find to alteration in the expression of hormonal receptors in preneoplastic lesions, with an apoptosis resistance in this lesions.
