Abstract Epidemic spreading is ubiquitous in our society and it is fundamental to understand this process in different scenarios. Many mathematical models and simulations have verified that the structure of social networks plays a fundamental role in the spreading of the infectious agent. Thus, if we change the connections between individuals, we can control the propagation. Moreover, human behaviour plays a fundamental role in spreading and can be used efficiently to reduce the number of new cases. In this project, our main goal is to understand how human behaviour influences the propagation of an infectious agent in our society. The individuals can act in different ways to decrease the probability of infection and we aim to verify how these different behaviours are the most effective. Our analysis includes the study of social distancing, cooperation between individuals and the effect of awareness on the number of new cases. | |
