Abstract

Assisted of natural regeneration has become an important method for large-scale forest restoration, especially when it faces financial constraints. Therefore, it is very important to understand how ecological succession takes place in distinct ecoregions, in order to improve ambitious forest restoration projects. The main goal of this TT3 scholarship is to provide help for the direct doctorate proposal #1, in measuring and analyzing vegetation and soil attributes in seven different ecoregions in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest (BAF), within São Paulo state. The person holding this scholarship must help out on the postdoctoral proposal #1 and on the direct doctorate #1, regarding GIS activities to locate study areas. S/he must also carry out field activities to measure trees and soil attribute and also carry out data analyses, along with a PhD student. (AU)
