Abstract

The Rorschach test was one of the most widely used psychological instruments in the national and international scope and has evaluated components that assist in the diagnosis of mental disorders. In the current scenario in which the number of cases of psychological distress is increasing, especially those suffering from diseases related to depressive disorders, it is understood whether instruments with an assessment capacity that is not only symptomatic, but that can capture aspects of the typical performance of patients such as the Rorschach Test, are important elements for the application of psychological assessment. To accompany or advance in psychological science, constant studies are needed that replicate the validity tests and verify the new interpretations. This project aims to investigate the contribution of the Rorschach test in the evaluation of depression, in two studies. The first comprises a systematic review of the literature and a possible meta-analysis on Rorschach indicators related to depressive disorders. Based on the application and coding standards of the Performance Evaluation System (R-PAS), the second study aims to investigate in clinical and non-clinical samples how the validity variations are valid for the variations in step 1. Thus, the same data will be used to R-PAS to expand its interpretive potential on depressive characteristics. (AU)
