Abstract

In this postdoctoral project, we will study various applications of the AdS/CFT correspondence to condensed matter, or AdS/CMT. We will study bosonization and dualities in various dimensions and the possibility of a bosonic alternative to the SYK model. We will consider "top-down" models for string theory gravity duals for 2+1 dimensional condensed matter transport, and study the resulting particle-vortex duality. We will calculate more general 2+1 dimensional transport coefficients from the gravity dual. The ABJM model will also be studied, in order to find a better way to apply it to condensed matterproblems through abelian reductions. (AU)
