Abstract

The study will evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of the phytosphingosine solution and your association with the sodium perborate solution, compared to the sodium hypochlorite solution. Specimens of thermopolymerizable acrylic resin will be made and sterilized by radiation in a microwave oven for 6 minutes. Sterile samples will be randomly distributed into four groups, according to the cleanser solutions that will be treated: phosphate-saline buffer (Group I - control), sodium hypochlorite (Group II), phytosphingosine (Group III) and phytosphingosine + anhydrous sodium perborate (Group IV). The specimens will be contaminated by Candida spp, sown in the Sabouraud dextrose culture medium and then taken to a tube, containing 5 ml of the cleanser solution. The samples will remain immersed in the solutions for 30 minutes. After that time, they will be transferred to Petri dishes with sterile distilled water and, in addition, they will go through 3 more rinses, in order to remove waste from the cleansers. After the rinse, the specimens will be transferred to individual test tubes with Letheen Broth culture medium. The rates of each dilution will be sown in Petri dishes and incubated at 37 ° C for 24 hours. After the incubation period, the number of colonies will be counted, with the aid of a microscopic magnifying glass. The test tubes containing the specimens immersed in Letheen broth medium will be incubated and the turbidity of the medium will be evaluated daily, the turbidity of the medium will indicate the growth of microorganisms. The data obtained will be analyzed according to normal distribution and subjected to an appropriate static test. (AU)
