Abstract

Fetal programming (FP) is the term used to characterize the changes that occurthroughout the life of animals caused by their prenatal nutrition. Stimuli in this phasecan generate / modulate molecular effects, such as changing gene expressionessential for the manifestation of phenotypic characteristics of commercial interest such asis the case of muscle and fat tissue responsible for gains in carcass and qualityof meat, products so significant in the country's agricultural production.
