Abstract

The Central Auditory Nervous System (SNAC) is responsible for several behavioral phenomena, including sound localization and lateralization. These skills are essential for orientation in the environment and to react quickly to important stimuli. In addition, its relevance is also in the fact that it is important both in everyday situations and in dangerous situations, in order to focus on important sounds and discriminate them from ambient noise. With that, we believe that there is a minimum time necessary for the individual to be able to locate the acoustic information, making it necessary an instrument that evaluetes more efficiently the sound location. Objective: Determine the reliability, through test-retest, based on normal hearing adults, for the COLT Test (Click Ordering Lateralization Test). Method: 40 subjects will participate in this study, divided equally between sex, in the age group between 18 and 40 years old. Thus, the subjects will be assessed individually, with the following procedures being performed: anamnesis; basic audiological evaluation; and Dichotic Digits Test (TDD). Then, the participants that meet the inclusion criteria will be submitted to the COLT Test (Click Ordering Lateralization Test), previously explained and demonstrated through the training track. In the descriptive analysis, the correct answers noted and calculated in a specific record sheet will be submitted to the statistical analysis pertinent to the study.
