Abstract

At this stage of the thematic project the validity of zinc oxide nanoparticle (Zn-NP) supplementation in ruminant as a functional feed will be investigated, integrating in areas of reproduction, microbiology, and molecular biology, using advances of the "Omics" era. It is intended to select Zn-NP with high bioavailability and greater persistence in animal organisms in an unprecedented and innovative way, promoting better performance in the animal and more efficient production systems. Demonstrating that Zn-NP could be a new form of sustainable commercial supplement for the production of ruminants. The objective of this activity plan is to identify the antibiotics resistance in bacteria culture and total resistome analysis in sheep consuming Zn-NP and their effects on progeny. Posteriorly will be evaluated the in vivo ovarian development of descendants (lambs) of sheep fed with Zn-NP in the pregnancy period, correlating it with reproductive biotechnology in vitro follicle culture (IVFC) of oocytes with Zn-NP levels.
