Abstract

Introduction: Physical exercises performed in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs (CRP) can promote several benefits, however during its execution there is a greater probability of the occurrence of signs and symptoms (SS). In this perspective, it is important to identify factors that can predict the risk of SS occurrence during a CRP session. Sedentary behavior (SB) is associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and negative changes in the individual's biochemical profile and, in this context, may be important for this identification. Objectives: 1) to verify the presence of SB in patients attending CRP and to evaluate its correlation with the occurrence of SS in these programs; 2) to evaluate the correlation between SB with the biochemical profile (TNF-alpha, IL-6 and IL-10, fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, triglycerides, HDL, LDL and total cholesterol) of patients attending CRP. Methods: 65 patients treated at a CRP will be evaluated. Initially, the medical records of each patient for population characterization will be analyzed and the SB level assessed using an accelerometer for a period of 7 days. After this period, the SB will also be assessed using the modified LASA - SBQ questionnaire for the elderly and reports of average time spent sitting per day during the week and at the weekend. Next, patients will perform a blood collection to measure biochemical markers. In the second phase of the protocol, patients will be followed up for 24 sessions during the CRP routines to analyze and record the occurrence of SS. For data analysis, the relationships between SB with the occurrence of SS and biochemical variables will be made by Pearson or Spearman correlations, depending on the normality of the data (Shapiro-Wilk test). In the case of significant correlations, linear regression will be performed on the model without adjustment and adjusted for sex, age, use of medication to control glycemic and / or lipid levels, body mass index, abdominal circumference, socioeconomic level and weekly time of physical activity moderate to vigorous intensity. All results will be discussed at the 5% significance level.
