Abstract

Skin grafting seeks to cover skin defects of various causes, however, when the results are not satisfactory, the graft may be lost. To avoid these results, electrophysical agents can be used to stimulate the integration of the grafted skin and maximize the results. Among these agents, photobiomodulation (PBM) stands out, an effective resource in several stages of the healing process, but little explored in the integration of skin grafts. Objective: To evaluate and compare the effects of PBM with laser, on red and infrared wavelengths in the process of integration of total skin graft in rats. Methods: An in vivo experiment will be effected with 39 Wistar rats, in which a fragment of full thickness skin will be removed, rotated 180°, and replaced in the control group. In the other groups, before the tissue is replaced, the open bed will receive irradiations with red (660 nm) and infrared (808 nm) laser, with fixed parameters. The animals will be euthanized in two different periods (3rd and 7th days after the procedure), for later macroscopic and microscopic analysis. Statistical analysis: For homogeneity and normality: Levene and Shapiro-Wilk tests; if the data are parametric: ANOVA test - Two Way (between - within) with Tukey's post hoc; if the data are non-parametric: Kruskall Walis tests with Dunn's post hoc (intergroups) and Friedman with Dunn's post hoc (intragroups); significance level of 5% (± <0.05).
