Abstract

Prematurity corresponds to the birth of babies before the 37th week of pregnancy and is linked to social determinants and the difficulty in accessing prenatal care, reflecting on maternal and fetal pathologies and their mortality rate. This project was designed to meet the initial stage of research training for undergraduate nursing students. It aims to analyze the social determinants of health associated with preterm birth and its connection with social, demographic, and the number of prenatal consultations. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study that will be carried out at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit at HCFMRP / USP. The mothers of newborns admitted to the units chosen for the study and who are accompanying the hospitalization will be included in the research by signing the Informed Consent Form. When recruiting participants, ethical aspects and the possibility of withdrawing at any time will be emphasized. (AU)
