Abstract

The objectives of this study will be to verify candidate protein markers for oral cancer prognostic by monitoring selective reactions (SRM) in saliva and plasma samples from patients with and without lymph node metastasis (N0 and N+, respectively). For this, it will be used protocols established in the mass spectrometry laboratory for the extraction of proteins from saliva. The panel of proteins monitored in saliva will have been previously selected by the technical capacitation fellow, based on the DDA results. The best targets chosen from the DDA results, along with data obtained from systemic review and the TCGA will be monitored in this project by Proteomics directed to targets in saliva and plasma. For plasma samples, the immuno-SRM technique will be used and standardized in this project. The strategies used in this study can elucidate new relevant prognostic factors for oral cancer through liquid biopsies, in addition to defining techniques for Proteomics directed to targets, such as immuno-SRM.
