Abstract

In this project, socio-spatial fragmentation is the key concept to be explored. It is defined as the mediating element of the current relations between space and society. Relations that have been changing, with greater intensity, after the counter-reform of capitalism that began in 1970. Transformations in the capitalist structure and in the spatial production that relate the spatial fragmentation with the inequalities. The object of study of this project are these relations between fragmentary processes and inequalities. Relationships that are addressed through everyday life, where they are expressed and can therefore be captured. The everyday lives analyzed are those of the residents of two public housing estates of different income and spatial configuration, built 45 years apart, in the city of Dourados/MS. All of this translates into two objectives: a) the socioeconomic contextualization of the different study cases, with different inequality maps, and b) the mapping of the everyday lives of residents of the selected locations.
