Abstract

How do the elements of filmic narrative and cinematographic style materialize in video clips and contribute to demarcate the artistic and innovative processes in Brazilian audiovisual? Based on this problem, the proposed research aims to observe the stylistic innovations in the production of contemporary national video clips, grounded on the notion of "transclipecine", postulated by Rodrigo Oliva (2014; 2017). As an object of study, the audiovisual project A Jornada para Utopia ("The Journey to Utopia") was chosen, created by Thalles Cabral and which, until May 2021, brought together five video clips in a proposal to consolidate an unique narrative - however fragmented, without establishing a visible chronological order for the connection of the stories. To carry out this work, it is planned to make use of a bibliographic research, proposing theoretical reviews on the concepts and convergences of the video clip format with the cinematic narrative, from authors such as Arlindo Machado (2000), Ariane Diniz Holzbach (2010) and Rodrigo Oliva (2014; 2017); and analytical-interpretive, observing how artistic and stylistic innovations are presented in the narrative, signed in authors such as David Bordwell (2008; 2013), Kristin Thompson (2003) and João Paulo Hergesel (2019). With this, it is expected to produce a consistent reflection regarding the possible interconnections between the cinematographic elements and the language of the video clip, contributing to the discussions in the field of audiovisual communication.(AU)
