Abstract

The work process in hospital nursing is characterized by long working hours, intense pace, fragmented and rational method, having suffered over the years with the reduction of material and professional resources. In this context, nursing professionals are exposed to psychosocial risks related to the nature, process, and inadequate working conditions, and suffer from physical and mental illness. It is essential to identify strategies that promote a safe working environment and that favor mental health. Objective: to identify strategies to promote mental health at work in hospital nursing. Method: integrative literature review in the Lilacs, Scopus, Web of Science, and Medline databases, guided by the question "What strategies are used in the hospital context to promote the mental health of nursing workers? The sample will include primary studies published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, available in full, with no time limit, and that answer the guiding question. Data extraction will be performed in an Excel spreadsheet matrix considering the characteristics of the studies (country, year of publication, participants, objective, methodological design, study population) and the outcome, which will be categorized according to the interventions found, anchored in the theoretical framework for mental illness that uses the concept of mental wear Expected results: to identify the strategies for mental health promotion at work in hospital nursing and thus contribute to the promotion of a safer and healthier work environment, as well as to advances in knowledge on the subject.
