Abstract

Historically, attendance to the emergency room in Brazil are weak, in view of the lack of professional qualification, low capacity and lack of educational spaces decentralized and technologically equipped for specific training in this area (BRAZIL, 2003). Health workers organically integrate the services of emergency rooms that require skilled professionals, since the service must be fast and effective way of ensuring that the reduction of morbidity and mortality. To do so, we created the Environmental Education in emergencies that have the purpose to promote a profound process of training and continuing education of health workers to adequately meet the urgent and emergency cases at all levels of care system. This study analyzes the contributions of the research produced on the continuing health education as a strategy of managing the services of emergency department and based on the publications in national journals in the last ten years. Adopted as the methodological procedure Integrative Review of Literature which is a method of literature review that allows for searching, critical evaluation and synthesis of available evidence about the research theme.
