Abstract

The analysis from the scientific literature regarding the proteins related to rev-erv-alpha revealed important interactions with circadian rhythm markers, such as, CLOCK (clock circadian regulator) and OPHN1 (oligophrenin 1) in the neuronal context, and RORA (RAR related orphan receptor A) and NCOR1 (nuclear receptor corepressor 1) in the transcription context, modulating the expression of proteins related to metabolism, such as PPARG4 (peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma). However, a few studies emphasized the role of rev-erb-alpha in the skeletal muscle and which proteins and molecular pathways rev-erb-alpha are involved. Based on our preliminary data using bioinformatic analysis (figure 2A-2C), rev-erb-alpha protein could be associated with other cellular and molecular events not yet investigated in the skeletal muscle. Professor Dr. Fernando Moreira Simabuco (associated researcher of the thematic project) have been using interactome analysis of cellular proteins to reveal new signaling pathways and functions of already known proteins. Therefore, to identify new proteins interactions and molecular pathways related to rev-erb-alpha in the context of myogenesis and muscle metabolism, subproject 3 will analyze the rev-erb-alpha interctoma in skeletal muscle cells C2C12.
