Abstract

During the BEPE fellowship, I will work on three different projects that are related to each other. The first 2 (Projects A and B) are already in an advanced stage of development, while the last one (Project C) will be started during the BEPE. In Project A, we take advantage of the S-PLUS narrow band filters to select giant stars in specific color-color diagrams. These giant stars will be used to find optical counterparts of x-ray emissions in the search for symbiotic stars. In Project B, we will use the SED-fitting technique developed for the S-PLUS calibration pipeline to produce a value added catalog of stellar parameters. These parameters will be used to characterize the open clusters in S-PLUS iDR4 and will allow me to investigate the relation between their ages and spatial velocity dispersion (which I already started in a previous work, but with a very inhomogeneous sample). Finally, in project C, I will use the catalog of project A to select members of Galactic streams observed with S-PLUS. We will prepare observational proposals for one of the many telescopes operated by NOIRLab (preferably, Gemini) to obtain high-resolution spectra for the members of the streams to study their chemical composition and investigate their origins by comparing their composition to those of different galactic structures and other overdensities.
