Abstract

The present research project is part of a long-term experiment, conducted since 2002/03, on Lageado Experimental Farm, which belongs to the College of Agricultural Sciences of UNESP, in Botucatu (SP). Thus, continuing the experiment, which must probably be the only one in the State of São Paulo with almost 20 years of conduction, the present study aims to evaluate the long-term effect of surface application of lime and/or gypsum on physiological and productive responses of soybean and maize intercropped with Urochloaruziziensis in cultivated succession to soybean. The experimental outlining is in randomized blocks, with four replications. The treatments are composed of 1) absence of lime and/or gypsum application; 2) application of gypsum alone; 3) application of lime lone (recommended dose to increase the base saturation to 70%); 4) application of lime + gypsum. In October/November 2021, soybean will be sown, and after the soybean harvest, maize intercropped with Urochloaruziziensisalso will be sown(~March 2022). The following evaluations will take place: Crop nutrition, leaf gas exchange, yield components, and grain yield of soybean and maize, as well as the determination of phytomass produced by the crops, including Urochloaruziziensis.
