Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the adhesion of the pigment layer/stratified porcelain to ultra translucency zirconia (third generation), under different firings in the absence or presence of the extrinsic pigment layer through the shear test. 60 slices of zirconia (10 x 10 x 3 mm) and 30 cylinders (Ø = 3, mm and 3 mm in height) will be made over a layer (or not) of pigmentation followed by the application of a porcelain ceramic. One of the zirconia surfaces will be polished using granulation sandpaper (400, 600, 800, and 1200 #) under constant irrigation by water. The zirconia slices will be randomly distributed according to the groups: P - Porcelain applied on the zirconia surface; PP - Pigmentation applied to the surface of the zirconia followed by the application of porcelain; PP3P - Pigmentation applied to the surface of the zirconia followed by the application of the porcelain with 3 burnings for the porcelain after application; PP3Z - Pigmentation applied to the surface of the zirconia followed by the application of porcelain with 3 firings for the zirconia after application. The shear test will be carried out in a universal machine for mechanical tests EMIC, with a load cell of 100 Kgf and 1 mm / min, and a handle shape steel wire (Ø 0.3 mm) will be used. The maximum load supported until the cylinder displacement for each group will be registered in Newton, which will be divided by the union area and converted to Mega Pascal (Mpa). The samples will be stored and analyzed under a stereomicroscope to classify the type of failure. Representative samples will be analyzed metalized in a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The data will be submitted to statistical treatment, by analysis of variance, ANOVA 2 factors, and Tukey test (± = 5%).(AU)
