Abstract

This project aims to investigate some aspects of the aesthetic conception in the young Sartre's thought, choosing music as the privileged object of study, based on the novel "Nausea". In the plot starring Antoine Roquentin, the jazz theme "Some of these days" stands out as a key piece to understand the Sartrian dynamics between art and reality, since such music is related to the character's problem regarding nausea that afflicts him. As a theoretical background, we will use Sartre's considerations about the imaginative consciousness and the work of art, present in the conclusion of "The Imaginary", in order to examine the supposed specificity of unreality in musical art and apply it to the novel.(AU)
