Abstract

Subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) associated with coronal advanced flap is considered the gold standard procedure for root coverage. However, there are few pieces of evidence about the somatosensory characteristics of recipient and donor areas of SCTG in late postoperative periods. Thus, this complementary project presents the objective of qualitative evaluate the somatosensory profile of areas that received SCTG and palatal donor sites and adjacent areas without intervention. Patients with indications for root coverage procedures associated with SCTG will be included. Sensory tests will be applied in the initial period (G0) and in the postoperative period of 3 and 6 months (G3 and G6). A single calibrated examiner will apply the DN4 questionnaire, the qualitative sensory test (QualST), discriminating the areas into hypersensitive, hypersensitive or normal sensitive, and the acuity test using the Two-point. The analysis will comprise descriptive statistics, Chi-Square test for assessment of QualST, and ANOVA to evaluate the Two-point test (p<0.05).(AU)
