Abstract

The research proposes an analysis of the six articles that compounds the Dossier Arrabalde, written by documentary filmmaker João Moreira Salles and published by the Piauí magazine between November 2020 and April 2021. Such journalistic work approaches the historical and current context of the Amazon, in addition to discussions on the future of this ecosystem. The analysis focuses on the narrative characteristics and tools used in the texts, such as descriptions of the environment, the narration of acts and events, and characters' presentations. The work aims to verify the association of techniques used in narrative journalism and long-form storytelling with scientific and environmental reporting. For this, we shall explore how such techniques are expressed in the texts of the Dossier Arrabalde, discussing the use of narrative resources as tools for approaching wide-ranging subjects for scientific dissemination purposes.(AU)
