Abstract

We aim the development of a self-contained software for the identification and proper measurement of changes in multi-temporal SAR/POLSAR satellite images. The idea is building a structure that integrate experts from several areas interested in change detection with statistics experts which can provide novel data analysis' methodologies. The candidate will use her expertise in app programming as well as her training in statistical methods to develop such a statistical analysis tool. Some existing statistical methods for noise reduction, segmentation and change detection will be thoroughly studied and included. Most will be based on wavelet representation of images, given its balance between numerical and technical efficiency. At the end of the research project, a user-friendly computer software will be available for free use. Later on, new methodologies may be added.
