Abstract

The study will describe for the first time the changes in the modulation of endometrial angiogenesis as a result of uterine insufflation with ozone gas (O3). The expression of endometrial angiogenic factors will be quantified using real-time PCR. Immunohistochemical analysis will enable the description of tissue distribution. In the 2021 breeding season, a total of 12 mares were subjected to uterine insufflation with a gas mixture containing 42 or ؼg O3 mL-1 (O3 and control groups, respectively; n=6 mares/group). Treatments were performed every three days for six days (D0, D3, and D6). Endometrial tissue samples were collected immediately before the first treatment and 24 hours after the third uterine insufflation (D0 and D7, respectively). In the present study, the quantification of mRNA expression and the immunolocalization for eNOS, iNOS, VEGFA, VEGFR1, VEGFR2, Ang2, and Tie-2 receptors of endometrial origin will be performed. Our findings will be of great value in the search for alternative therapies for the treatment of infertility in mares.(AU)
