Abstract

The research project aims to analyze twenty journalistic articles extracted from Folha de S.Paulo and Agência Mural, in order to observe the way in which economic news was treated in different newspapers and how these subjects reach different social strata. The material studied was published between January and April 2021 and addresses economic issues during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. For the development of the work, the Content Analysis method was used, which Moraes (1999) splits into five steps, namely the preparation of information, the unitarization or transformation of the content into units, the categorization or classification of units into categories, description, and interpretation.
