Abstract

Philosophy of mathematics, especially in the twentieth and in the early twenty-one century, assumed that mathematical languages do not admit pragmatic elements of ordinary language. Consequently, speech act theory as it was developed by Austin, Searle, and Vanderveken didn´t deeply approach the philosophy of mathematics. Only recently some articles appeared about a taxonomy of typically mathematical speech acts. The main purpose of this project is to apply this taxonomy, particularly to the assertive and directive illocutionary acts present in pure mathematics.(AU)
