Abstract

Transition metal-free and semiconductor magnetic materials are excellent candidates for the development of spintronic devices, particularly in the form of nanocomposites. In particular, we can highlight ceria (CeO2) and carbon-based compounds such as graphene and, more recently, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4). Composites of these two materials have also been investigated, but only from the point of view of applications for photocatalysis for hydrogen generation, but we did not find any study of the magnetic properties of this composite in the literature. Thus, this research project aims to synthesize, characterize and investigate the structural, electrical, optical and magnetic properties of (CeO2\g-C3N4) nanocomposites to observe possible applications in spintronics, as well as to verify if the synthesized composite, under the effect of a magnetic field, it may also have its photocatalytic properties modified.
