Abstract

The transformation in the Amazonian urban scenario has intensified in the last 50 years, but these changes did not mean investments in adequate infrastructure. Amazon cities still have poor access to basic services, including health and sanitation infrastructure, especially in small towns. These deficiencies create a problem to the population, creating a scenario of Environmental and Social Vulnerability. In this context, this research seeks to contribute to the socio-environmental health assessment of the city of Afuá, State of Pará, in the context of Space, Environment and Health. It is intended to identify areas most susceptible to vulnerability, based on the socioeconomic and sanitary infrastructure requirements of the city. It is justified by looking for understanding the urban reality of the local population, under a scenario of vulnerability, aggravated by COVID 19. It seeks to point out a close interface between space and health, in a methodological way, based on the proposition of a Sanitary Vulnerability Indicator. Spatial Analysis will be applied, using Geographic Information System, to develop a mapping of the indicator, in addition to understanding the socioeconomic profile of the population, information available in the questionnaires applied to the population, among other data. It is expected to help public managers with assertive urban planning measures, with the aim of mitigating damage to the population, especially the most vulnerable, from the results obtained. (AU)
