Abstract

This proposal aims to analyze the performance trajectories of economic groups MRV and Rodobens in two medium-sized cities in São Paulo, considering the actions of such groups as relevant agents in the production of housing and the city in Brazil. It is hypothesized that through the spatial rescheduling and the arrival of these groups in several medium-sized cities, they start to play an important role in the local real estate dynamics, mainly from the provision of housing. The empirical cutout chosen is that of two medium-sized cities that have MRV and Rodobens projects: Presidente Prudente and Ribeirão Preto, located in strategic geographic situations in the state of São Paulo and, therefore, components of urban networks of different orders. Despite playing different roles in the urban network, it is important to investigate how the intra-urban space of each of them is produced, mainly with regard to the particularities of real estate agents and, above all, the mode of action of the MRV and Rodobens groups. Methodologically, the research will be based on four axes: a) bibliographic survey, b) secondary data survey, c) interviews and field work, d) document survey, in addition to the analysis and systematization of the results obtained. The project is justified by considering the new mechanisms of the real estate dynamics of two medium-sized cities by analyzing the actions of two expressive economic groups in their similarities and differences with the general dynamics of real estate construction/development.
