Abstract

The present Research Internship Abroad scholarship project (BEPE) for a visiting undergraduate student involves the follow-up of an experiment which is currently underway at Rothamsted Research, called the Designing Future Wheat (DFW) project. The DFW project aims at more resistant wheat species capable of improving productivity for future generations. Led by Dr. Malcom Hawkesford, the work uses different imaging techniques to identify species with greater tolerance to scenarios of drought and temperature stress. The success of the project will generate intellectual progress in the knowledge of the image types used to identify nonconformities related to plant stress due to lack of water. Furthermore, the images obtained during the experiments in Brazil will be discussed, for a better understanding of the generated data and the drawing of possible conclusions, in addition to contributing positively to studies in the area of water deficit in crops in Brazil.
