Abstract

In Brazil, the right to health for LGBTI+ people has only become possible due to a long struggle and pressure done by social movements to have it institutionalized and to be understood in its whole dimensions. Nevertheless, it lacks public policies, beyond HIV/Aids, to ensure citizenship. The historical development of public policies regarding LGBTI+ health began with the 1988 Federal Constitution, becoming effective in the last decades with the creation of committees, conferences, ordinances, and the Integral LGBT Health National Policy (PNSI LGBT). Because these accomplishments are recent, it is possible to identify the constant stagnation and cancellation of those due to changing governments and their guidelines. Through a narrative review and analysis of official documents and law projects, it is intended to identify in documents and Bolsonaro's government's approaches, from 2019 to 2021, elements that indicate a setback in the health policy regarding the LGBTI+ population in the midst of the conservative term.(AU)
