Abstract Assuming the premise that parties tend to implement in the government policies defended during the election, this project's main aim is to verify and measure the extent to which the coalition's configuration and time in office interfere in the party in the presidency of Brazil capacity to deal with the resulting tension between responsiveness and responsibility. Using qualitative and quantitative methodologies - Content Analysis and Poisson Regression Analysis - we will test hypotheses on the effect of the size and degree of ideological diversity of the coalition and the time in office on the frequency of responsive and responsible actions issued by the Executive. The period of analysis ranges the terms between 1995 and 2022, from Fernando Henrique Cardoso to Jair Bolsonaro. | |
