Abstract

The marks printed on the land surface by societies throughout historical time have been object of study of researchers in different areas of knowledge, as is the case of Geography. In this sense, a new geological epoch has been proposed worldwide, whose determining factor is human action in surface, subsurface and even atmospheric processes. The study of the technogenic grounds meets the perspective of identifying and understanding the superficial processes that present social and natural factors in their constitutions. Given the relevance of this type of study to the understanding of the environments altered by the different actions of societies, as well as the potential of the results to contribute to the discussion of the Anthropocene nationally and internationally, the main objective of the study is the understanding of geomorphological and social processes responsible for the configuration of the technogenic grounds in the cities of Presidente Prudente-SP (partially investigated in previous works) and Rondonópolis-MT, from which it will be possible to elaborate the classification map of the technogenic grounds as final product to be used in different classes and lectures on the subject. To achieve this, it will be necessary the execution of procedures such as: 1) field investigations (observations and collections of materials); 2) laboratory analysis of the physical and chemical characteristics of samples collected in technogenic grounds; 3) completion of internships in different research centers in Brazil and abroad; 4) completion of diverse thematic mappings on the geomorphological aspects, location and classification of technogenic grounds and land use. These maps will aid in the understanding of environmental issues in the cities investigated.
