Abstract

This project aims to evaluate the properties, regarding mechanical strength and dimensional stability, of 3D printing experimental materials for provisional restoration. The following modifications in the 3D resin materials and in the 3D printing process were proposed: the incorporation of silanized filler particles and a photoinitiator system responsive to the blue light length, together with the change of the light source to optimize the polymerization reaction of the 3D resin. The experimental design of this project has 3 factors: I - Material (Smart Print Temp; Resilab 3D Temp; Cosmos Temp); II - Filler Content (0 and 30 vol%); and III - Photoinitiator (with or without the addition of an alternative photoinitiator system that match with blue light). Samples will be obtained using a 3D Printer (W3D Print, Wilcos) for the measurements and quantity required for each evaluation: samples for volumetric shrinkage (n=10) and provisional crowns for marginal/internal fit (n=10) will be analyzed by computerized microtomography (micro-CT); and cemented provisional crowns for fatigue strength (FS) (n=18) will be analyzed by universal testing machine. The micro-CT data will be analyzed with SPSS software, and, in case of normality, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's test (p<0.05) will be applied. Qualitative 3D reconstructions will be analyzed and described. For FS, Weibull statistical analysis will be applied. (AU)
