3D resin composites for temporary and definitive restorations with incorporation of antimicrobial agents

This research project aims to incorporate antimicrobial agents into 3D resin materials and evaluate the effect of these incorporations in terms of mechanical, chemical and biological properties of these materials. Two 3D printing resins, one indicated for provisional restorations (Varseo SmileTemp, BEGO) and another for definitive restorations (VarseoSmile Crown Plus, BEGO) will be investigated. Two antimicrobial products will be added to the 3d resins: 1,3,5-triacryloylhexahydro-1,3,5-triazine (concentration of 0, 5, 10, 20 and 30% by weight) and titanium dioxide nanoparticles co-doped with nitrogen and fluorine (0, 5, 10, 20 and 30 % by vol). The samples will be obtained with a 3D printer, in the specifications and amount necessary for each method: flexural strength and elasticity modulus (n=12), microhardness and softening in solvent (n=10), degree of conversion (n =5), sorption and solubility (n=5), color stability (n=5), gloss (n=10), surface roughness and roughness profile (n=10), viability assessment - SRB (n =5), viability assessment - MTT (n=5), contact inhibition (n=5) and assessment of antibacterial activity against planktonic bacteria (n=5). The results obtained will be analyzed according to their normality and other statistical assumptions, followed by analysis of variance and complementary test to identify significant differences among groups (± = 0.05).
