Abstract

Nowadays, it is incontrovertible the importance of sponsoring Scientific Dissemination regarding Chemistry and the University. In this field, the Thematic Project 2017/10118-0 (Study and application of electrochemical technology for the analysis and degradation of endocrine interferents: materials, sensors, processes, and scientific dissemination) has, as one of its strands, the Scientific Dissemination for the general public, once it has as one of its expected results the "approach between University and population". Therefore, this Research Project aims the creation of a YouTube channel to launch Scientific Dissemination videos concerning the referred Thematic Project (2017/10118-0), to show the general population an elucidating, legitimate, and closer to reality view of the daily routine inside public university research labs. Furthermore, it is intended to study the influence the available videos exert on the general public perception of Chemistry, besides providing an approach between the University and society itself. The analysis will be made through methodological triangulation of quantitative and qualitative methods, by means of the application of surveys, semi-structured interviews, and the use of the YouTube Analytics tool. This project, it is expected to boost the production of scientific dissemination videos of university researchers, in addition to contributing to increasing the value of Science and Chemistry.(AU)
