Abstract

The purpose of this proposal for a research internship abroad to be carried out at the Centre de Recherche sur les Liens Sociaux / Université Paris Cité is to strengthen the dialogue with French educational historiography and with documentary sources, in order to improve the doctoral work that is being developed in the country. The educational legislation of the 19th century will be explored as a mode of diffusion and appropriation of discourses and ideas in the educational field in national and transnational perspective. It focuses on educational reforms carried out in France during the first half of the nineteenth century, in order to understand how they constituted models for reformers of Brazilian public instruction. Based on a brief historiographical discussion, it demonstrates how the paradigm of transplantation or copy has created a tradition in studies on the subject, which indicates the need for studies that adopt other perspectives. Its objectives are to know the debates about educational reforms in France during the first half of the nineteenth century, from the main subjects involved and the ideas defended by them; to study the history of the teaching profession in France during the first half of the nineteenth century; to investigate the structuring of French public primary education from the school laws created in the first half of the nineteenth century; to approach the relations between Brazilian and French educational reforms in the nineteenth century from the perspective of Transnational History of Education.
