Abstract

This project aims to weave the relationship between the experiences of practitioners and cultivators of Dancehall culture in the construction of the dancing corporeities of this manifestation. In this sense, this scientific initiation aims, from a theoretical-practical study, to investigate how movements occur in the Female Dancehall, having a prominent look at the centrality of the hip, in the context in which they were created and which are still performed. Thus, through body practice and the survey of a bibliographic reference, it is proposed to demystify the stereotypes imposed on women's movements regarding the vulgarization within this culture and to reinforce the intrinsic character of Dancehall dance of celebration of the body, femininity and of black female fertility. As a synthesis of the research, a video performance will be held that will bring together the reverberations generated by the technical studies of the movements of Female Dancehall.
