Abstract

To verify the sensory processing and quality of life of children with Developmental Coordination Disorder, and potential contextual factors associated between children with and without Developmental Coordination Disorder. Methodology: this is a case-control study, and children of both sexes, aged between 5 and 11 years, from municipal, state, and private schools in São Carlos will participate. Children will be assessed using the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ), the Movement Assessment Battery for Children - Second edition (MABC-2), the Short Sensory Profile - 2, Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory" version 4.0 (PedsQL" 4.0), Sociodemographic Questionnaire and Questionnaire of the Physical Education Teaching Plan for children. Expected results: we hypothesize that children with BDD will have significantly lower scores than their typically developing peers on sensory processing and quality of life assessments. And what environmental risk factors will be associated with increased risk of BDD in these children. It is expected, therefore, that from these results there will be greater knowledge of the condition and that specific intervention proposals can be subsidized to improve the functionality of these children, allowing for early monitoring in the home and school environment, minimizing the possible repercussions on development.
