Abstract

Heat stress conditions represent a challenge in the production of broilers. However, several nutritional strategies have been proposed to mitigate the deleterious effects caused by chronic stress conditions. In this sense, the net energy system presents an alternative for the feed formulation, based on the principle of reducing the heat increment fraction of the diets, making them more efficient in the nutrients utilization. Therefore, it is proposed in this project the evaluation of the formulation system based on net energy for broilers under heat stress conditions. A biological assay will be conducted in an experimental poultry house under two conditions (open poultry house with high temperature and with environmental condition system). For both conditions will be offered, four diets formulated with variable levels of the relationship between the heat increment and the metabolizable energy intake (50:100, 55:100, 60:100, and 65:100), evaluating the productive and metabolic response of the animals. At the end of the experimental period, a group of birds will be selected from each treatment for tissue sampling of the liver, muscle, and distal section of the ileum, which will be stored for further analysis of molecular indicators. Subsequently, PCRq molecular tools will sequence the gene expression of thermosensitive chaperones (Hsp70 and Hsp90) and the protein related to lipid metabolism PPARG that triggers cellular oxidative stress. This study will promote essential results for implementing the net energy system in the practical feeding under heat challenge conditions. (AU)
